Two arrested after body found in sealed septic tank

COLOMBO (News 1st); An unidentified body was found in a septic tank on Tuesday (29) at a hotel in Pinwatta, Panadura.

After a Police investigation, the manager of a hotel in Pinwatta, Panadura, and another employee have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman's body in the septic tank.

Police stated that investigations are underway to arrest three more suspects.

Following a complaint that a female body was found in the toilet of the hotel, the Pinwatta Police obtained a court order and exhumed the body on Tuesday (29).

Police further said the woman's body had been dumped in a toilet, and then a wood placed on top of her before dumping cement to conceal the crime.

Police Spokesman, SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that information has been received that several employees of the hotel had taken the woman from Kadawatha to the Panadura Hotel on the morning of the 25th.

The post-mortem will be conducted at the Panadura Base Hospital.
