Red notices from INTERPOL against 130 suspects

COLOMBO (News 1st);  Police say they have obtained red notices from INTERPOL against 130 suspects in connection with an extensive drug network, who have fled the country and are hiding abroad.

Senior DIG, Senior Police Media Spokesman Ajith Rohana stated that persons have been identified as those who are connected to the drug trafficking network from Dubai to Sri Lanka.

Investigations have also been launched into their assets, with special attention being paid with regard to international drug traffckers.

Last year, the Police and the Police Special Task Force arrested 95,000 suspects in total, in drug related operations, while the amount of heroin seized during the year was 1,630 kilograms.
