COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government is attempting to fulfill its divisive policies without a care for Sri Lankans, says former Minister and the Leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya, Udaya Gammanpila.

Former Ministers Udaya Gammanpila, Gevindu Kumaratunga and Wimal Weerawansa, including representatives of 11 Government coalition parties called on the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya Aggamaha Panditha Ven. Dodampahala Chandrasiri Thero today (26).

The former Minister alleged that although the Tamil National Alliance promises of assistance from the Sri Lankan diaspora, however are requesting for power devolution as stated in the 13th Amendment, which will impact Sri Lankans and the diaspora alike.

However, the General Secretary of the Amarapura Maha Sangha Sabha of Sri Lanka, Prof. Ven. Pallekande Rathanasara Thero stated that as a sect a decision will be taken to promote no politician in the future, as no leader who has declared that Buddhism is paramount had served for the needs of the people, but for their personal allies.

"We have learned well after much criticisms that this is enough," the Thero added.
