Zoo Director alleges she is not allowed to function properly

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sharmila Rajapaksa, the Director General of the Department of National Zoological Gardens allege that although she was appointed by the President, she is not allowed to function.

She also stated that the conduct of certain officials has led to the removal of some heads of institutions appointed by the President.

Speaking further, the Director General said that the report of the committee that investigated allegations against her has not been revealed yet.

Rajapaksa also said that when she was attending a meeting with the minister, he said that the media is supporting her due to her outer appearance, which is a regrettable statement.

"As a woman, I am ashamed of all women who voted for him. This is a sign of disrespect. " She said.

The Director General also added that many heads of institutions appointed by the President have been sent home because as a group of people stir up trouble, while the President is blamed the most for the country's problems.
