SJB, CWC among parties to boycott All-Party Conference

COLOMBO (News 1st); Several political parties have announced that they will boycott the upcoming All-Party Conference, scheduled for Wednesday (23).

Sri Lanka’s main opposition the Samagi Jana Balavegaya will be boycotting an all-party conference called by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for March 23, it was announced on Monday (21).

At the same time, the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) also said that it would boycott the All-Party Conference.

Here's a list of parties that have already said NO to the All-Party Conference.

1. Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB)

2. Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC)

3. Thamil Makkal Thesiya Kuttani (TMTK)

4. Tamil National People's Front (TNPF)

5. People's Liberation Front (JVP)

6. Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU)

The All-Party Conference was organized following a request made by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP). All political parties representing the parliament have been informed in writing to attend the conference.
