Gammadda Volunteers step up to help people in queues

COLOMBO (News 1st); V-Force volunteers will hand over bottles of water to help people, particularly the elderly, as they stand in line for fuel, LP Gas, etc, in Colombo, Kandy, and the South.

"This effort is relatively small in comparison to the enormity of the issue. But our Chairman was very clear in using our capacity to reach out and do what we can to help", noted Chevaan Daniel, Group Director of the Capital Maharaja Group.

The volunteers will initially focus on the Colombo, Kandy, and Matara areas and plan to expand over the coming days.

Three elderly individuals died while standing in fuel queues since the weekend, with several others collapsing due to heat exhaustion.
