COLOMBO (News 1st); The Advisory Committee appointed to assist the National Economic Council had submitted 5 proposals to the NEC.
The Advisory Committee met President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for the first time on Monday (21), and made the submissions.
The five proposals are as follows:
1. Immediately appoint a Technical Committee with Central Bank, and Treasury representation to propose on International Financial facilities.
2. Appoint a Financial Advisory, and a Legal Advisor.
3. Technical Committee must expedite the submission of a restructuring program for International Financial facilities.
4. Identify a group of experts to support the Finance Minister.
5. Increase confidence by addressing obstacles in the supply process.
The Advisory Committee further noted that it is important to take short-term and long-term measures to strengthen refinancing for a more stable economy that will be steered in the right direction.
