Two dead in separate burglaries in Seeduwa and Thalahena

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police said that two people were murdered in two separate incidents of jewelry theft in Seeduwa and Malabe.

Sri Lanka Police said that a 73-year-old woman was murdered on Wednesday (16) at a house in Mukalangamuwa in Seeduwa.

Police believe that a killer had broken into the house with the intention of committing a robbery, and thereafter carried out the murder.

The body of the deceased was moved to the Negombo Hospital for the post-mortem and investigations are underway.

In a separate incident, two men had broken into a house in Thalahena, Malabe on Wednesday (16) and killed an 80-year-old man, while tying up his wife.

The killers had stolen gold jewelry from the residence and fled.

Sri Lanka Police said further investigations are underway.
