S&M Rice Mill Owners not happy with govt decisions

COLOMBO (News 1st); The All Ceylon Small and Medium Scale Rice Mill Owners’ Association alleges that Sri Lanka has no fixed process to purchase rice.

The Chairman of the All Ceylon Small and Medium Scale Rice Mill Owners’ Association Nishantha Bandara when the Trade Minister announces the price of a kilo of rice at Rs. 100/-, the Agriculture Minister purchases paddy for Rs. 100/-, hence there is no system in place.

He alleged that the Government is NOT taking any responsibility to develop this country, while the decision made is not based on scientific grounds or justifiable reasons.

Small and medium-scale Rice Mill owners claim that all past governments have supported and taken care of the well-being of large-scale Rice Mill owners.
