COLOMBO (News 1st); The Society of Government Pharmacists warn that many government hospitals are facing a shortage of medicines.

Society of Government Pharmacists, Ajith P. Thilakaratne NO medicines at many hospitals for heart patients, Kidney patients, Cancer patients, and Thalassemia patients.

He reprimanded the government for allowing the private sector to increase prices, rather than intervening to solve the shortage.

He urged the government to reduce the prices of medicines and also distribute the stocks of medicines maintained in storage facilities, for the use of government hospitals.
