Indian Train Compartments NOT in use

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka has suspended the use of Indian-made train compartments.

The Sri Lankan Locomotive Engine Operators' Union (LEOU) Secretary Indika Dodangoda said that these compartments were removed from service due to certain flaws.

Railways Superintendent Gamini Seneviratne speaking to News 1st said that the Locomotive Engineers and Guards have decided that these train compartments from India, cannot be used.

However, he stated that the Engineers' Association has not submitted a report to him so far with regard to the Indian-made train compartments.
