Islandwide strike by State Executive Officers

COLOMBO (News 1st); Several Trade Unions attached to the Joint Committee of Government Executive Officers will launch a token strike on Thursday (10), citing multiple issues including the violations of the Wages Policy.

They are demanding solutions to the issues surrounding salaries and allowances awarded for selected services, as well as anomalies in the granting of promotions.

17 unions, including the State Engineering Services Union, the Government Ayurveda Officers 'Union, the Local Trade Union Confederation, the Labor Officers' Union, and the Education Administrative Services Trade Union Confederation are participating in the strike.

Meanwhile, the Committee of Government Executive Officers stated that a protest will be held opposite the Fort Railway Station at 10 am on Thursday (10).
