Customs seizes 13 parcels with drugs worth Rs. 12 Mn

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Narcotics Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs detected 716 grams of Kush Cannabis from 13 parcels held at the Central Mail Exchange.

Sri Lanka Customs said its personnel detained 13 suspected parcels containing drugs and upon inspection uncovered that they contained Kush Cannabis.

The street value of the narcotic substances is valued at over Rs. 12 Million.

According to Sri Lanka Customs that narcotics were sent from the UK to fake addresses in Colombo, Gampaha, and Kalutara.

Sri Lanka Customs said personnel from the Department of Posts assisted in the detection of the narco-parcels sent to Sri Lanka.

The drugs were handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau for further investigations.
