President's House, Parliament exempted from power cuts

COLOMBO (News 1st); Several places such as the Parliament and the Presidential Residence have been exempted from power outages, according to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka.

According to the list published on the PUCSL website, hospitals and export processing zones are among the high priority areas.

Sri Lankans have been experiencing scheduled power cuts throughout the island since 02nd February, which began as a temporary one-hour power cut, that has extended to a seven-hour power cut by today. 

Many have been inconvenienced while for certain areas, power cuts have lasted longer than the stipulated time limit.
