Over $580mn income from tourism industry so far in 2022

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Tourism has recorded an income of USD $582 million from tourists who visited Sri Lanka in the 1st two months of this year. A total of 185,730 tourists visited Sri Lanka during the past two months, Sripala Hettiarachchi, the Secretary to the Tourism Ministry told News 1st on Friday (Mar. 4). Around 82,000 tourists visited in the month of January while around 96,500 tourists visited in February, he noted. According to the Tourism Ministry, at present, more than 3000 tourists arrive in Sri Lanka daily.
