Health strike suspended for 10-days

COLOMBO (News 1st); Health Professionals decided to suspend their strike for 10 days from 8 a.m on Friday (4).

The Convener of the Federation of Health Professionals, Ravi Kumudesh said that the decision was taken based on an emergency meeting with the Health secretary.

He also said that the decision to suspend the strike was taken considering the suffering of the people due to the power and fuel crisis.

The strike was launched by 17 health unions on Tuesday (2) in protest of the failure to address several demands, including the eliminate salary anomalies.
