Finance Minister to sign $1bn loan agreement with India

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Finance is preparing to sign a USD $01 Billion loan agreement with India, to facilitate the importation of essential commodities and pharmaceuticals.
The agreement is to be signed with an Indian Bank with the intervention of the Government of India, S. R. Attygalle, the Secretary to the Finance Ministry told News 1st on Thursday (Feb. 24).
S. R. Attygalle noted that he will leave for India on Friday (25), with Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
