Container Carriers running out of fuel ; Operators seek alternatives

COLOMBO (News 1st); All Ceylon Container Carrier Owners Association pointed out that the transport sector involed in imports and exports have been severely affected due to the lack of fuel in Colombo city.

The Chairperson of the Association, Sanath Manjula stated that the country is facing a serious problem due to the lack of fuel.

He said that container carirers are running out of fuel and are facing a situation of completely running out of business.

He said that they discussed this matter with the Director-General of Customs and the Chairman of the Colombo Port.

The All Ceylon Container Carrier Owners Association is seeking permission for its members to have access to the filling stations that are operated by the Sri Lanka Air Force and the Sri Lanka Navy.
