SL vs Aus: Sri Lanka beat Australia by 5 wickets

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka won by 05 wickets against Australia in the final T20 of the five match series, and avoided a whitewash, in Melbourne.

After opting to bat, Australia managed to score 154 for the loss of 06 wickets, in their 20 overs.

In reply, Sri Lanka reached the target of 155 runs at the end of 19.5 overs, with five wickets down.

Kusal Mendis top scored with 69 runs and was awarded Player of the Match.

Earlier in the day, Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera claimed 02 wickets each, while Praveen Jayawickarama and Chamika Karunaratne took 01 wicket each.

Australia's Glenn Maxwell was awarded Player of the Series.

Hosts Australia won the five-match T20I series 4-1.
