Four organized criminals apprehended by Police

COLOMBO (News 1st); Four organized criminals have been apprehended following an operation led by Kaduwela Police, says Police Spokesperson, SSP Nihal Thalduwa. 

The suspects, aged 21 to 43, were apprehended following criminal activities conducted in Gothatuwa, Maharagama, Kaduwela and Kahathuduwa areas.

They were identified as residents of Matthegoda.

Moreover, four stolen motorcycles, one three-wheeler, two grenades and an air rifle were found in possession of the suspects. 

They were engaged in several abductions and thieving incidents in the above areas, in addition to one suspect being involved in an assault on a Buddhist monk in Chilaw.

Accordingly, three suspects were remanded until 4th March after being produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court on Saturday (19). 

Kaduwela Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
