COLOMBO (News 1st); Attorney-at-Law Chaminda Kularatne, a former Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister, has been appointed as the Additional Secretary to the President.

In addition, he also serves as the Chief Government Whip Secretary in Parliament.

He has over 20 years of experience in a number of Government positions including Assistant Secretary to the President, Senior Assistant Secretary to the President, Additional Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition and Ministerial Adviser to the Sri Lankan High Commission in the United Kingdom. He is also the first South Asian to serve as Vice President of more than 120-year-old Association of Consular Officers in London.
