Dengue on the rise; Seek immediate treatment for fever

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Dengue Control Unit stated that there has been a rapid spread of dengue in 25 Medical Officer of Health divisions compared to the previous year.

Community Physicians Dr. Indika Weerasingha stated that 9539 Dengue patients were detected so far this year in Sri Lanka.

The Health Authorities point out that the prevalence of the disease is high in the Western Province and the Jaffna District and urged the public to seek immediate medical attention if they develop a fever.
