Ambulances & Pick-ups for regional hospitals

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Health on Thursday (17) handed over 25 modern Ambulances and 38 Pickup trucks to Hospitals and Regional Health Medical Officer's island wild to improve the quality of Health Services in the Country.

The keys and documents were handed over by the Minister of Health, Dr. Keheliya Rabukwalla and the vehicles were handed over to the respective Hospitals and the Medical Officer of Health.

These Cabs were provided with the Financial Assistance of the Asian Development Bank and the Health System Enhancement Project.

The price of one of these Pickup trucks is around Rs. 11 million.

From Friday (18) onwards, 25 modern Ambulances donated by the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Health will be added to the Sri Lankan Health Service at a cost of around Rs. 15 million per Ambulance.

These Ambulances were donated to hospitals in several parts of the country, including remote areas.
