60 cops probing CCTV on attack on Chamuditha' house; 26 statements recorded

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said that 26 statements have been recorded so far, with regard to the attack on the residence of Journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama.

The suspects behind the attack are YET to be identified.

Police have deployed several teams to check the CCTV cameras on the roads in the area, to locate the vehicle used by the attackers.

Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa said the investigations into the incident are being conducted under the supervision of the Senior Superintendent of Mount Lavinia and another Superintendent of Police.

A high-ranking Police Officer said the footage obtained from CCTV cameras on roads in Piliyandala were checked by 60 Police Officers, to locate the vehicle used by the group of suspects to arrive at Samarawickrama's residence.
