Wanted criminal 'Parippuwa' arrested by STF

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Police Special Task Force arrested a wanted criminal and drug trafficker identified as 'Parippuwa'.

'Parippuwa' (real name - Manawaduge Asanka Maduranga) was arrested by the Police Special Task Force after obtaining a warrant from the Colombo Magistrate's Court on Monday (14).

He was arrested along with a Type-82 Hand Grenade.

On the 7th of February 2022, Sri Lankan authorities have arrested four members of an organized criminal gang from Wellampitiya.

The suspects were identified as the associates of a criminal who goes by the name ‘Parippuwa’.

Four swords and two knives were discovered from the possession of the suspects who are 29, 35, 39, and 52 years of age.

The suspects were arrested by the Organized Crimes Division of the Colombo Crimes Division.
