COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Teachers’ Union convened a media briefing in Anuradapura on Tuesday (15) and express their views on media supression.

The Chairman of the Ceylon Teachers Union, Priyantha Fernando stated that the Government has started a new make over with the arrest of Shehan Malaka and the attack on the residence of Chamuditha Samarawickrama.

Furthermore, he stated this is done to cover up the present economic crisis in the country.

“Lasantha Wickremetunge was assassinate, Pradeep Eknaligoda went missing, Siyatha media was set on fire and Sirasa was bombed. The culprits are still roming free,” he said voicing concerns over the failure to arrest those responsible for these incidents as well.
