COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Health Ministry said that it is conducting a study on the possibility of vaccinating children below the age of 12.
Deputy Director-General of Health Services, Dr. G. Wijesuriya speaking to News 1st said the future course of action will be taken following submissions by the expert committee.
He said the matter of considering vaccination for children below 12 years is being made given the present spread of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka and how it can affect children.
Dr. Wijesuirya said at present children above the age of 12 are currently being vaccinated across Sri Lanka.
