Govt has not learned any financial management: MP Weerakkody

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government has not learned to manage its finances properly, says Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Chandima Weerakkody. 

Speaking to media, the MP stated that Sri Lanka's Governments so far have not yet been able to learn how to properly manage their finances and have a financial discipline, and ultimately the Government will have no option other than to go to the IMF. 

Citing several reasons such as the lack of financial discipline, lack of transparency, the inability to cut down on unnecessary expenses, the MP stated that all such reasons contribute to the Government's downfall. 

Moreover, the spending State funds for political and personal causes also drains the country of money, the MP added.
