Teenage love affairs ends in murder; 15-year-old girl dies enroute to hospital

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 15-year-old girl who was stabbed by her 17-year-old boyfriend died while being transferred from the Kanthale General Hospital to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital after her situation worsened.

Sri Lanka Police said that the girl from Agbopura was stabbed on the 1st of February.

The suspect had visited the victim's residence on that day in secret and stabbed the girl in the presence of her mother.

The postmortem will be carried out at the Dambulla Hospital.

The suspect was remanded until the 9th of February after he was produced to the Kanthale Chief Magistrate.
