COLOMBO (News 1st): The supply of water could be limited in the coming days given the prevailing dry weather conditions, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said on Thursday (Feb. 3).
As a result of the prevailing dry weather, there is a significant drop in the water levels of main water sources. While the daily consumption of water is very high at present, the Water Board said in a statement.
Accordingly, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board urged the public not to use drinking water for non-essential activities such as washing vehicles and gardening.
Water will be supplied to consumers in the highlands, under low-pressure conditions, the Water Board added.
