Bribery case against Minister Wimal Weerawansa fixed for trial

COLOMBO (News 1st): Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe fixed for trial the case filed against Minister Wimal Weerawaransa over charges of generating wealth over Rs. 70 Million, on the 17th of June. The case was filed against Minister Wimal Weerawansa for amassing wealth over Rs. 70 million during his previous tenure as a Minister was called up on Wednesday (2) and Minister Weerawansa appeared in court. The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption filed the case under Section 23 (08) of the Bribery Act over amassing wealth of over Rs. 75 million in cash and property between the 1st of January 2010 and the 31st of December 2014.
