COVID numbers at IDH on the rise

COLOMBO (News 1st); The rate of admission of COVID-19 patients at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Colombo has risen by around 50 percent.

IDH Director Dr. Hasitha Attanayake noted that the number of patients in the Intensive Care Units has also reached the maximum level.

Dr. Attanayake said the number of COVID-19 patients depending on Oxygen has risen compared to last week as well, given the increase in the rate of daily infections.

Over 800 new COVID-19 cases were detected daily in the country in the past six days.

Moreover, 891 COVID-19 cases were reported on Tuesday (25) and the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 603, 654 for Wednesday.

According to the Ministry of Health 576,540 people have recovered from COVID-19.

As of Tuesday (25) 15, 330 people in the country have died due to COVID-19.
