Two killed, four injured in accidents on Monday (24)

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two people were killed and four others were injured in accidents which took place in several parts of the country recently.

According to Police, two people were killed in accident near the Helambawewa bend in Nochchiyagama on Monday (24), when a three-wheeler had drifted off the road and collided with a tree.

Two injured people are currently receiving medicament at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital following the accident.

However, one of the victims is in critical condition, hospital officials said.

Meanwhile, two residents of the Mahawelitenna area in Nochchiyagama have passed away in an accident, when the two were returning from a wedding reception.

At the same time, two persons were injured in a head-on crash between in a 03 three-wheeler crash in Molligoda area in Wadduwa on Monday (24).

Police stated a three-wheeler crashed with two other three-wheelers while trying to overtake another vehicle.

The injured are currently being treated at the Panadura Base Hospital.
