Police seek public assistance to arrest two local drug traffickers

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police is seeking public assistance to locate two men wanted for possession of proceeds of drug smuggling.

A statement from Sri Lanka Police said that the Police Narcotic Bureau in December 2021 seized a vessel with over 290 kg of heroin in deep seas.

The men wanted by police are those suspected of earning money from peddling drugs connected to the December bust.

Sri Lanka Police said the men were identified as two main suspects who are handling the drug trafficking operation from Sri Lanka and they have fled their residences.

The suspects are:

1. Vithanage Nirosh Chanuka Vaidyasekara Weerasinghe (32 years old from Gonapiniwala)

2. Galmangoda Guruge Dilip Sameera Sandaruwan (32 years old)
