COLOMBO (News 1st); His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo says the Easter Attacks is a clear example of political manipulation.

He said this form of manipulation used a group of terror-minded youngsters and "having come to know about them possibly allowed that to happen for political gain."

"When I saw these scenes it was very clear that this was a kind of a cock and bull story that has been created by the police," he said when commenting on the recent discovery of a hand grenade from the All Saint's Church premises in Colombo.

Rev. Fr. Thusitha Solongaarachchi, who was also speaking with the Head of Sri Lanka's Catholic Church from Italy said the Global Forum for Easter Sunday Bomb Victims will obtain membership at the United Nations to raise their case for justice.

At the same time, Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando, the Spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Colombo flayed the Public Security Minister for his recent comments on the hand grenade investigation.

"On the 14th Minister said the same mastermind was responsible for the hand grenades discovered at Lanka Hospitals and All Saint's Church. But, his comments came before a statement was recorded from the doctor who was arrested," he said.

Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando said these events have been planned and scripted well bu those with vested interests, however, the script is now very poor.
