Police arrests woman attempting to smuggle gold worth Rs. 9.1Mn

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Police Narcotics Bureau arrested a businesswoman who attempted to smuggle gold worth around 9.1 million rupees on Saturday (22).

The suspect was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport after arriving from Dubai.

The woman, aged 30, was identified as a resident of Kandy.

Sri Lanka Customs has ordered the woman to pay a tax of around 2.7 million rupees and a fine of 10,000 rupees.
