COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Provincial Councilor Nalin Hewage suggested that people should expel leaders who betray the country.
Commenting on the intervention of foreign countries in Sri Lanka, the former Provincial Councilor stated that the current rulers are unable to control the trajectory on which the country is moving, and in addition, are involved in fraud, corruption, theft and practices of nepotism.
Speaking further, Hewage said that if the very same rulers are in charge for the next three years, there will be nothing left in the country, and likened the Dutch, Portuguese and the British invasions in the last few centuries to the American, Indian and Chinese influences that the country is experiencing now.
“Earlier, they used guns but now it is the pen that they use to sign agreements that betrays the country,” he added.
