27 youth engaged in Sri Pada pilgrimage with drugs, arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police had recently arrested 27 youth who were engaged in Sri Pada pilgrimage while being in possession of drugs.

Police stated that cannabis and drugs were found in the possession of the suspects, who were arrested with the collaboration of the Nallathanniya and Hatton Police.

The suspect were identified as those between 18-30 years.

25 of the suspects have been released after being produced before the Hatton Magistrate's Court.
