Increase in forest fires reported due to dry weather

COLOMBO (News 1st); With the prevailing dry weather, forest fires in the central highlands have increased.

Nuwara Eliya District Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Center, Ranjith Alahakoon stated that this increase has been noted due to human activities.

Residents of the District have also been requested to inform the nearest Police station if any wildfires are sighted.
