COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Engineers’ Union says that the Work to Rule campaign launched last evening (19), will continue until the respective authorities provide a solution to their demands.
Executive Committee Member of the CEB Engineers’ Union, Charith Jayanath Dayaratne stated that the TU action is being conducted citing several demands, including the immediate removal of the newly appointed General Manager by the Chairman of the CEB.
Further, the CEB Engineers Union is also demanding the removal of the current Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board from his portfolio.
The Minister of Power, Gamini Lokuge stated that their demands have been taken into consideration by the CEB.
He added that the removal of certain officials will be based only on the Court’s verdict, and based on that, the Ministry will decide on the appointment of new officials as well.
