Gamini Senarath appointed Presidential Secretary

COLOMBO (News 1st); Gamini Senarath has been appointed as the New Secretary to the President.

The appointment was made after the current secretary to the President, P.B. Jayasundara resigned from his position.

He also served as the Secretary to Prime Minister on a previous occasion.

Senerath has held various administrative positions in Sri Lanka after he passed the State Administrative examination in 1994.

Being a past pupil of Rahul College Matara and Richmond College Galle, he is a graduate of the University of Peradeniya.

He has held positions of Deputy Controller General of Immigration and Emigration Department, Commissioner General of Department of Motor Traffic and Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister and Chief of Staff to the President in the past.

Meanwhile, Secretary to the Ministry of Irrigation Anura Dissanayake is due to take over as the Secretary to the Prime Minister
