COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar will announce on the 18th of February 2022, its decision on whether Ex-Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando will be released from the Easter Attacks case, without calling for evidence from the defense.

Hemasiri Fernando is charged with failing to take necessary action to prevent the 2019 April Easter Attacks, and the evidence examination concluded on Wednesday (19) in the presence of Justices Namal Balalle, Aditya Patabandige, and Mohamed Irsadeen.

Deputy Solicitor General Sudarshana De Silva told the court that he would conclude leading evidence from the prosecution based on the available evidence and the documentation.
