Man choked to death by son-in-law during wedding in Tissamaharama

COLOMBO (News 1st); A wedding reception in Tissamaharama on Sunday (16) night ended in a murder, said Sri Lanka Police.

According to the police report, a dispute has taken place between family members during the wedding and a man had beaten and choked his father-in-law to death.

The 54-year-old victim was rushed to the Debarawewa Hospital, where he was ruled dead upon admission.

The suspect who committed the murder was identified and he is reported to have fled the area, said Police adding that an investigation is underway.
