Pack of essential items at Rs. 3998 via Sathosa: Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st): Steps have been taken to provide a pack of essential items at a concessionary price for the festive season, the Ministry of Trade said. "The relief package could be obtained through Sathosa at Rs. 3998 per package; meaning, the consumer can save a minimum of Rs. 1750 per package," Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, the Minister of Trade noted. According to Minister Gunawardena, the relief package contains 20 essential items including 10 kilograms of Samba Rice, Flour, Tea, Sugar, Dhal, Turmeric, and Chilli Powder. The Trade Minister noted that 100,000 such relief packages have been released to the market as of now. "The relief package could be delivered to the houses within 48-hours, by calling the hotline 1998," Minister Gunawardena added.
