COLOMBO (News 1st); The Minister of Health, Keheliya Rambukwella points out that criticizing the Government is a democratic right.
Speaking further, the Minister stated that it is normal for Sri Lanka to become a debt-ridden country, and that there can be many such incidents of economic crises in the current environment.
“We have to pay USD 500 million by the 17th. We will pay it or we will negotiate and postpone it,” he mentioned.
The Minister of Health also stated that the Government can print as much money as it wants, and that it is a normal occurrence which takes place every year.
“That is not something to be surprised about. It is not a problem to print money in a frame, as much as you need,” he added.
