Number gimmicks drives the economy down: MP Ashok

COLOMBO (News 1st); Number gimmicks further drives the country towards darkness, says Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Ashok Abeysinghe. 

Speaking to media, the MP spoke on the economic crisis and several rating agencies downgrading the country's rating score. 

Moreover, the MP stated that the loans of the Ceylon Electricity Board, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and SriLankan Airlines will be removed from the public debt portfolio to show that the country's debt is low.

The MP mentioned that it is because of the gimmicks that the Government does with numbers that Sri Lanka has been relegated from the world rankings.

He added that the Government hides the truth about the economy under the guise of the COVID-19 crisis.
