COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers has given the green light to publish the Animal Welfare Bill in the government gazette.

In addition, approval was given to submit the Animal Welfare Bill to the parliament for approval.

According to the Department of Government Information approval was granted to draft the Animal Welfare Bill on the 19th of October 2020.

It added that the Attorney General has given the clearance for the bill that was drafted by the Legal Draftsman of Sri Lanka.
