COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Department of Meteorology in its latest weather forecast says fairly heavy showers above 75mm may occur at some places in Eastern, Uva, and North-Central provinces and in Hambantota and Matale districts.

The Department added heavy showers of about 100mm may occur at some places in Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle, and Matara districts.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by
temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
