Players who intend to retire have to provide three months' notice: SLC

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Cricket says that players to intend to retire from national cricket should provide a three months' notice to SLC of their intention to retire.

Issuing a release, SLC stated that the the executive committee of SLC took several decisions in respect of players who have retired or intend to retire from national cricket.

Accordingly, retired national players who wish to obtain a "No Objection Certificate" (NOCs) to play in overseas franchise leagues will only be issued to such players who have completed six months of their effective date of retirement.

Moreover, SLC stated that retired national players will be considered eligible for local leagues such as the LPL only if they have played 80% of the matches in the Domestic Cricket Competitions conducted in the season prior to the conducting of the league.
