COLOMBO (News 1st); The Trincomalee Oil Tank Farm deal is a historic betrayal in the making, alleges SJB MP Kabir Hashim.

Speaking to media, the MP stated that the Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa should bear the responsibility for this issue, as he bankrupts the country and then visits other countries and begs for billions of dollars, which are then obtained under certain conditions.

Pointing out that Sri Lanka had to sell the Trincomalee Oil Tanks as well as hundreds of acres of land to India, MP Hasim said that it is not a historic victory as Minister Udaya Gammanpila says, but is a historic betrayal in the making.

Meanwhile, the Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that the country keeps on losing its national resources.

" The oil tanks were lost, then the Trincomalee Port will also be lost. They went and asked China for dollars and lost 13 acres of land in the Colombo Port to a Chinese company to run logistics services. When he went to the United States and asked for a loan, they told us to give them power plants. What do we have left now?," he demanded.
